Galopp

The poodles and ponies in Gallop mark the first collaboration of two printmakers in our programme, bridging the gap between collaborative publications and the solo works of individual artists.

Looking at Jehle's and Körnig's bodies of work, obvious parallels do not appear at first sight: cool precision here, a wild indulgence in material over there; there, a colourful comic aesthetic; here, a skilful staging of unease. However, they are occupied with very similar formal problems after all: pause and speed, ornament and object, and the balancing act on the fine line between zones of comfort and fear.

The book contains eight etchings by Miriam Jehle and eight linocuts by Gustav Körnig. Cover and front matter are linocuts as well.
