Passage

Echo №5

The plates for Passage were created over the course of three days during a workshop with Franziska Reinbothe's class for painting and printmaking. While for previous Echo projects we had mostly invited dedicated printmakers, this group consisted of a much wider range of artistic backgrounds – and thus brought an even greater variety of sketches to the table. As usual these were shared within the group, so that everyone would adapt someone else's input in print.

The shared workspace was a long table in the corridor of the Leipzig Academy. Beyond its metaphorical reference to the process of translating image material, the portfolio's title also alludes to the very practical realities of working in a semi-public space.
